Bracha Malkin
Bracha MalkinPrizewinner of both the Wieniawski International Violin Competition as well as the 2004 Paganini International Violin Competition, violinist Bracha Malkin began studying the violin at age four under the tutelage of her father, Isaac Malkin, later continuing her studies with her father at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division. She was named by Henry Roth, in his book entitled,Violin Virtuosos from Paganini to the 21st Century, among the "gifted young violinists who are among the vanguard leading the march of violin art into the 21st century."

Ms. Malkin has been heard in numerous performances worldwide, both with orchestra and in recital. Among the symphony orchestras that she has been a featured violinist include the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony and Ural Philharmonic (both in Russia), Israel Chamber Orchestra, Nederlands Promenade Orchestra (Holland), Manhattan School of Music Symphony, Academy of Music Symphony, Aspen Music Festival Young Artists Orchestra, Hawthorne Symphony and the Westchester Philharmonic.

She has soloed in such venues as the Concertgebouw and has given recitals in St. Petersburg’s Kapella Hall, in Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem, as well as a tour of several cities in Japan, Brazil, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, in Siena’s Winter Festival Series (Italy), and throughout the United States. Ms. Malkin has appeared on American and Dutch Television, and has been heard on WQXR 96.3FM Radio Station on the Young Artist Showcase. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Malkin spent two summers at the Marlboro Music Festival and appears regularly at the Academy of Music Festival in Nyack, New York.

In 1996, Ms. Malkin made her debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall with her sister, the violinist Anat Malkin, as part of The Malkin Duo. The Malkin Duo, formed in 1996, are the winners of the Artist International Auditions in New York. They have given performances in Israel, Italy and throughout the United States, including the world premiere of David Ward-Steinman’s Double Violin Concerto in San Diego. Ms. Malkin is a graduate of The Curtis Institute where she was a student of Aaron Rosand. She has also received the Performer Diploma with Distinction from Indiana University where she worked with Miriam Fried as well as her Master's Degree from the Maastricht Conservatory where she worked with Boris Belkin. Ms. Malkin plays the "Trechman" J.B. Guadagnini of 1757.
