Ruben Camacho

Ruben Camacho
He has been invited to perform in New York, Paris, London, Buenos Aires, Bogota and Caracas, among other cities: in recitals, with orchestras, chamber music ensembles and also to teach. In 2002 Mr. Camacho was invited to perform in the Cervantino Music Festival, (Mexico). He has also participated in the Tanglewood Music Festival (USA), Montpellier Music Festival (France) and others.

Born in Venezuela, Ruben began his musical studies in his home town. At age 15 he moved to Caracas and studied with maestro José Francisco Del Castillo, with whom he worked until his acceptance at the Juilliard School in New York. In 1993 he obtained his BM in Music from Juilliard under Margaret Pardee, Felix Galimir, Jonathan Feldman, and members of the Juilliard String Quartet. In 1993 He moved to Paris and began to study with Professor Jacques Ghestem and in 2002 the government honored him with the gift of French nationality.

He is privileged to have worked with maestros such as Leonard Bernstein, Andre Previn, Kurt Mazur, Jaimes Depreist, W. Sawalish, C. M. Guilini, Eduardo Mata, Henryk Szeryng and Aaron Rosand.

His musical ability first developed and flourished within the Venezuelan Youth Orchestral System until he moved to New York. Now he teaches at the Centro Mozarteum de Caracas, and in the year 2000 he became the father of a beautiful girl, Clara.
